Institute of Virginia Satir
The team of lecturers of the Slovak Satir Institute teaches Satir Model in more than 30 short or long-term workshops and trainings a year. The focuss for long-term programs – e.g. now, there is STAR BASIC program II. for helping professionals and STAR THERAPIST – a long term psychotherapy training in Satir Model to prepare future licenced psychotherapists in accordance with EU criteria, certified by Ministry of healthcare of SR.
Another important training for licenced therapists and
councellors is Healing from trauma after violance in families in cooperaion with Satir Institute of the Pacific in Canada, lead by Kathlyne Maki-Banmen, M.A., RCC.
The Slovak Satir Institute cooperates with the Czech Satir Institute in its mission and developing international training groups. Slovak trainers are team training members of the 4 year accredited Czech Satir program MOVISA I. And II. (MOdel of Virginia SAtir).
We also opened up the tradition of the men´s and women´s groups in May 2006 and groups for pairs, parents, families and general public based on Satir Growth Model. Among the workshops the most popular in Slovakia are three days residential marathons of family reconstructions.
